You may recall Cristiano gave a talk on this to NPPS some time ago. He's the most prominent proponent of it in EIC territory.

Hello, Cristiano: 

Would you be available this week to discuss with Meifeng, Torre, myself, and maybe others about the NP funding opportunity on AI/ML. 

We would like to rework our existing proposal on a distributed ML workflow into a proposal for AI-driven detector design. I have spoken with Rolf on behalf of the EIC project and he is supportive. To make this a success, we need your strong involvement. 

Would you be interested in teaming up? 

If so, what dates and times could work for you tomorrow or the day after tomorrow or - if this week is not possible - early next week? 

Who else should we invite for the initial discussion? We can always add more people later after we know what we want to do and what we need. 

The agenda of the meeting would include: 

• What do we need to make AI-driven detector design and optimization a reality for the EIC project detector and the second detector? 
• Who do we need on the project team to make this this a success? Here, we need to think not about expertise on workflows and AI but maybe also on detector experts with influence in the community (to break the social barrier). 
• Can we do this in two years within a budget of USD 2,000,000?
