Hi,
Last spring NPPS, CSI and external collaborators including JLab developed for the DOE HEP AI/ML call a proposal for large scale ML services and their application in experiments. It was turned down, but we're continuing to look for avenues to proceed with aspects of the work (the core of the work is part of our ATLAS program and so is proceeding that way). Meifeng Lin is our lead CSI collaborator, and Markus Diefenthaler at JLab. Meifeng and I asked Markus whether JLab might be interested in developing with us a re-focused proposal for this NP call. Markus is interested, and he tells us he discussed it with JLab management and they are interested as well. We plan a small meeting to discuss shortly after Thanksgiving. Comments appreciated, particularly if you think this is something we should *not* proceed with! The proposal from last spring is attached. Happy to discuss.

I'm looking for the most competitive proposals, wherever they come from.
NP did let us know they were disappointed with BNL at the last round.
