 The Physics Department's Nuclear and Particle Physics Software (NPPS) Group is developing software project topics suited to the ~6 month visits of ASP alumni, with prospective topics in NPPS areas of expertise including resilient workflows on distributed heterogeneous resources, cloud based analysis, AI/ML applications in detector simulation, and scaling up AI/ML and other complex workflows on high performance computing resources.

We've received the report on the Comparative Review of the Laboratories in the Energy Frontier that took place September 2022 (attached). Thank you again for your hard work and dedication. It was recognized by the panel.

 

We've been asked to respond to the recommendations before the end of the calendar year. I'll let you know what is required.

 

I'm looking forward to continuing to bolster the group and our impact. It is worthwhile to hold another "retreat" to decide how best to achieve this goal. We'll discuss this further as we respond to the recommendations.
