Dear sPHENIX/EIC'ers: I will be giving a talk next week at ISMD 2018 entitled "The
sPHENIX Detector: The Future of Heavy-Ion Collisions at RHIC, and
a Foundation for an EIC Detector". As I usually do I would like
to emphasize sPHENIX as not only a world-class detector for
heavy-ions, but as a platform to enable cold QCD studies and an
EIC detector. I have attached a draft of the talk as a PDF. The observant
among you will notice that I have borrowed very heavily from
recent talks by Gunther and Dave (many thanks to them for
sharing). With all the reviews this year I think these slides
deliver a well-honed message so I wanted to start with this as a
basis. I tend to use animation a lot in my talks, so in the PDF
the animations are split into separate slides. I would very much appreciate comments and suggestions.
Suggestions that come with slides or images will earn you extra
karma points for the afterlife. I speak at 9AM Thursday Singapore time, so comments received
early next week should leave me enough time to fully incorporate
them. Regards, |
