Dear all,

I'd like to remind people that this year's IEEE Real-Time conference
will take place in June in Padova, Italy. I think the groups represented
here have a lot of topics that could (and should) be presented there.

The abstract submission closes next Sunday, Feb 14.

Let me also point out that we (I am the exec. committee chair) have a
number of student grants available that could offset some costs, which
makes this conference interesting if you are at an early stage of your
career. The coolest feature, however, is what we call "Mini-Orals". As a
student, you are likely to submit a poster abstract. You will still get
to present the merits of your poster in a 3-slide presentation to
explain why people should visit your poster. For many students, this has
been the first actual presentation in front of a larger (and generally
friendly and supportive) audience.

Finally, if you are parents both working in the field, there are child
care grants available to offset some of your child care costs while
attending the conference. We are very proud of this family-friendly program.
