The MTEST beamline was running over the weekend... until this (Sunday) morning, when a problem developed with a second electrostatic separator. The plan is to do the repair/replace on this one Tuesday morning. The message on MI-TV is:

MI52 "B" septa problems -- no beam to NM or
MT. Replacement work begins 0700 Tuesday.

which Mandy explains:

If you recall, there are 2 septas. They replaced the “A” tank one just before
you arrived with the 2 mil spare. The one that broke today was the “B” tank,
the other original 4 mil septa. They do have a spare (note though, this is
the last spare) 2 mil and that is what they are replacing starting Tuesday.

If the repair on Tuesday goes about the same as the last one, I would expect
beam to return Friday afternoon, although there is a chance it’ll be ready
Thursday evening.

...

I should also say how this last repair actually went – it took them 2 days to
do the actual replacement, but then it was another day and half to get the
beam tuned well. So I wouldn’t expect beautiful beam until the weekend after
you install. That would be my expectations.

So again, this doesn't change our plan, since we weren't going to have any beam before Friday anyway, although it does mean that we can start setting up in the MT6.2 enclosure as soon as we want, although we won't have any rigging until Tuesday at the earliest. I would suggest we just start on that first thing Tuesday morning when the whole team is here, since Monday is a Fermilab holiday, too.

I was working on the details of the run plan, but we might want to discuss this week the absolute most critical runs that we want to take, and take those at the very beginning... just in case.

You can learn more about the electrostatic septum with Google, I came across some pictures here:
