Hi Eric,
   From what I can see, this diffuser looks fine, but it's hard to say 
a priori how uniform the light output would be given the LED light 
source you would be using. Since they're not expensive, you might want 
to order several with different grit polishes and see how they look. 
They do seem to give reasonable overall transmission (~ 80%), so you 
could even try using two of them in tandem if necessary. The main thing 
will be to see how uniform the light distribution from the diffuser 
looks with the camera.
