Hi Folks,
Having a set of 25 screens for each block should give us a better price break per screen design. The company, Tech Etch, has responded to me but I do not have an answer yet on the photo tooling charge and if we would be charged again.  This would add 6 screen designs per block and six 6 block designs (19-24). The last quote for tooling was $350 each design so I hope to get it waived or we get a cost of $12,600 just for photo tooling.
In total we would be ordering 25 screens of 36 different screen designs.  If old quotes are any good still that was about $20 a screen.  The order would be 900 screens total and a rough cost of $22,500 without the tooling charge.
Attached is an old quote with numbers for 10 and 25 screens screens for comparison. Look at the line for 25 each.
      Best, Eric T.

Hi Anne/Eric,

Weihu used “one set” to refer to “6 screens” for one block. Eric used “one set” to refer to “complete set screens of 19-24 type high eta blocks”. Let me use Eric’s notation.

We will need 52x4 = 208 sets of screens for production of high eta blocks in China. If UIUC can order 25 more sets, that would be a good insurance for possible issues in the production process if the cost is reasonable.

I will try to have a phone meeting with PKU to discuss the situation there next week.

  Thanks. Regards,

  Huan

Hi all,

We’ll meet on Friday at 10:30 ET for the EMCal meeting.  The agenda is here:

I have moved Justin’s radiation damage presentation over from last time in addition to the usual updates from BNL/Illinois/Fudan.  I hope we can make time for that and still end at noon ET for the General Meeting.

Best,

Anne
