Hi Edward,

    Many thanks for pulling this together and sending it to the list.  I'm *very* confused, as a I fail to see what is different about the inner HCAL compared to the outer that could account for 30% changes in gain?

    I completely agree with your conclusions - that we need to bring everything we have to bear on monitoring the stability of the HCAL towers in the coming prototype 3 run. Having the LED's available, and the ability to interleave calibrations triggers with data taking will be a big help. Of course, we need to exercise these things because they model what we ultimately plan to do with the real detector.
