Production status: Chris Pinkenburg

All sims production have been done

·       Embedding production finished with both 1D and 2D Spacals. Only tower saved in calorimeter to fit into available disk space.

·       Reprocessing a few hcal sims without absorber hits to create space for the production.

Output dir:

·       /gpfs02/phenix/prod/sPHENIX/preCDR/pro.1-beta.5/

·       /gpfs02/phenix/prod/sPHENIX/preCDR/pro.1-beta.6/: new Hcal production with light corrections

Software updates: Mike McCumber

Recent updates:

·       Sorting out primary particle:  https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/75

·       Tabulation of evaluation errors: https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/77

On-going work:

·       Alan reported the evaluation on TPC slow.
Mike: on TOOD list to profile for the problem

·       Track projection #69. Pull request coming soon. Handle both cases.

·       Calorimeter truth info compression, using shower objects.

HCal update: John Lajoie

Page 2:

John: Ended up as a new build by implementing light collection in step level for inner HCal

Page 3:

John H.: request add this sampling fraction number to pre-CDR

Jin: two sampling fraction format exists. Suggest use Sum[edep_scint]/( Sum[edep_scint] + Sum[edep_absorber]), rather than light_yield based numbers

John L: will implement

Page 5:

John L: sub-percent improvement after light correction

Page 8:

John L: Marginal change in tails too

Page 9:

Jin: 0% tail problem?

Most gone after high stat sample.

Mike: Would light correction apply to the energy deposition or the light yield on G4 hits?

Jin/John L: light correction has been updated to modify light_yield

Mike: one thing to notice that the evaluator use edep() to trace max truth.

EMCal update: Jin Huang

Page 3/4:

Dave: what is the orientation of the plot?

Jin: Vertical axis is the distance of tower to the track projection along the azimuthal direction. Therefore the radiative tail is always in the vertical direction.

Page 4:

Mike: New tracking projection would use the track state vector at the last station to perform the projection, which should improve the pointing as electron radiates photon side the tracker. Would this be needed immediately?

Jin: Not immediately. But if available, happy to use.

Page 6:

Jin: Birk correction seems suppressed the hadron tail by x2-3, which translate to improved hadron rejection performance.

Page 8:

Dave: it appears realistic simulation produced a softer rise in rejection at high electron efficiency end.

Jin: yes. It also shows 8GeV electron suffers back leakage at the very high efficiency end.
