Calorimeter QA 3/3: Jin Huang · https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/107 Completes the QA modules as reported before.
Event lib update: Martin Purschke · https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/108 · https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/110 · Also email update to the list Completes event lib that we can use the sPHENIX software to read the test beam data now.

Martin (via email): suggest to use a different path for event lib (e.g. eventlibraries) or a separated git repository Chris: support new name. But prefer to keep the event lib in the coresoftware repository for now.
Verbosity utilities: Jin Huang · https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/109 Two minor touches: 1. Give a enum name for first few verbosity levels of Fun4All based modules 2. Tuned verbosity levels for messages from Fun4All server. Suggest se->Verbosity(Fun4AllServer::VERBOSITY_SOME); for interaction running
Megan: is there rules define behavior for each verbosity level Jin: for the first few level, the behavior is suggested by enum name and its documentation: https://www.phenix.bnl.gov/WWW/sPHENIX/doxygen/html/d5/dec/classFun4AllBase.html#ac73557a95e7a7eb06cf07af95430c51d e.g. VERBOSITY_SOME is suggested for interactive running with some useful output messages. Chris: for special debug message, it is up to software author to define the verbosity levels
Chris: general rule is default verbosity is the quiet mode. And in the quiet mode, no message should be output other than critical errors.
Exploring generic Kalman filter: Haiwang Yu
Plan: to implement GenFit2-based Kalman filter with Geant4e-based track representation. Borrow experience from Philipp Oehler (Bell, Geant4e+GenFit1) and Kun Liu (E906, Geant4e+Homebrewd Kalman Filter)
Jin: which collaboration has worked on such combination? Haiwang: to my knowledge CMS and Bell-II are working on it.
Chris: as some version of Geant4e is included in GenFit1, what happened to Geant4e in GenFit2 Haiwang: In GenFit1, Geant4e was implemented as preliminary feature by Philipp. In GenFit2, many GenFit internal structure was changed and Geant4e was dropped.
Chris: shall we try Geant3e (ROOT VMC) + GenFit2 as stepping stone? Haiwang: need to duplicate geometry from Geant4->Geant3 and a parallel development Jin: as our goal is to avoid Geant3, we encourage Haiwang pursue the final configuration of Geant4e + GenFit2 without working on the intermediate step of Geant3e.
Help welcomed: if someone else want to work on Geant3e (ROOT VMC) + GenFit, it will be a useful intermediate step to provide GenFit server earlier and provide cross check in the future.
