Dear Collaborators,

I wanted to spend a moment on this Friday afternoon to remind you to vote for the executive council position.  I would like to especially encourage the junior members of the collaboration to vote for our representative.  Perhaps the senior members could encourage their juniors as well.

Voting will close at midnight EST on March 21st.

Thank you for your attention, have a great weekend!

Dear collaborators,

As was discussed by Rosi Reed and Dan Cebra at the sPHENIX general meeting last Friday, voting for EC members is now open.  There are two elections being conducted in parallel – one in which qualified juniors are voting, as individuals, for junior members of the EC; and another in which IB members are voting, on behalf of their institution, for general members of the EC.  Both elections close at 23:59 ET on Monday, March 21.

Ballots for the election of junior EC members should be sent to Rosi Reed (rosijreed AT lehigh.edu) with a subject line of “sPHENIX Junior EC Election”.  The junior EC candidates are (vote for any two):

Megan Connors (Georgia State University and RBRC)
Sarah Campbell (Columbia University)
Dennis Perepelitsa (Brookhaven National Lab)
Darren McGlinchey (University of Colorado, Boulder)

Ballots for the election of general EC members should be sent to Dan Cebra (cebra AT physics.ucdavis.edu) with a subject line of "sPHENIX EC Election”.  The general EC candidates are (vote for any four):

Christine Nattrass (University of Tennessee)
Vitalii A. Okorokov (National Research Nuclear University MEPhI)
Jin Huang (Brookhaven National Laboratory)
Anne Sickles (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign)
John Lajoie (Iowa State University)
Bill Zajc (Columbia University)
Ron Soltz (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory)
Joern Putschke (Wayne State University)
Chris Pinkenburg (Brookhaven National Laboratory)
Tom Hemmick (Stony Brook University)

Details about the voting procedure, as well as statements from the candidates, can be found in Rosi’s and Dan’s talks from Friday: https://indico.bnl.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=1845

Dave and Gunther
