Dear Collaborators,
Last week, I received a very kind invitation to speak about “Detector
upgrades at BNL-RHIC" (30+15 min discussion) including especially
preparations for sPHENIX in one of the plenary sessions from the organizers
of the Lorentz Workshop “Tomography of the quark-gluon plasma with heavy
quarks” which will take place in Leiden, the Netherlands, from 10-14 October
2016. I had to decline due to the short notice (those at US Nat’l Labs will
be familiar with this). I did ask whether they would be open to an alternate
speaker from the sPHENIX Collaboration – and they are.
As you can see, the time is very short and the topic is not just sPHENIX
(though one could emphasize sPHENIX). If anyone is interested – maybe they
have the flexibility to make short lead time travel plans, or maybe they’re
already in Europe – let me know by noon ET tomorrow (Thursday, September 29).
Cheers,
Dave
