Hi,

Thanks for the updated draft.  My comments are below.

Best,
Anne

abstract: it would be good to mention the non-heavy ion uses of sPHENIX (perhaps a sentence from the cold QCD topical group).

line 19, 21: “are used” -> “will be used”?

line 114: “damaging the fibers” -> “degrading the light output of the fibers”

line 135-136: “insensitive to neither…” fix

line 209-212: “A gap of…” this sentence has some grammar problems “fibers and the SiPM”? “misaligned by 0.2mm” ?

line 227: “decreasing aging…” -> “which decreases aging and improves the ability…”

line 514: “FTBF” was already defined on line 60

line 529: a reference to the beam spot size?

line 564: remove “one” (presumably firing multiple veto counters would also cause an even to be rejected)

line 567 & figure 14 are still not consistent since "2>= particles” != “more than 2 particles”

line 559: “sixteen” -> “16”

line 673: reference for 105 cm?

line 666: remove “through”

line 671: L_eff is formatted differently in the two places it appears in this line

line 703: “max-energy tower” -> “the tower with the maximum energy”

line 706: “best” -> “largest”

line 712-713: can the figures be rearranged so that this single line isn’t alone on the page?

line 717: “W-Epoxy” -> “WSciFi"

line 733: remove “projection”

line 744: “SPACL” -> “WSciFi”

line 767: “1/(hadron rejection)” -> “inverse of the hadron rejection” or something similar

line 793 & 803: figures 26 a & b should be swapped so they are referenced in the correct order

line 795: “exponential+Landau” -> “sum of an exponential and a Landau distribution”

line 806: write out “approximately”

line 811: commas around I(ch)

line 866: here there is a space between the figure number and subfigure letter but previously there was not, it should be consistent

line 876: “Birks’ “

reference 1: include the arXiv number for the MIE proposal
