As discussed at the collaboration meeting, we are planning to submit the MVTX proposal to DOE (through BNL) by the end of this month. The MVTX team has finished the first draft of the proposal (Congratulations to Ming et al!!). The draft can be found in the "sPHENIX Notes" category of the BNL Indico at

The password for opening the pdf file is "MVTX18".

Given the importance of the MVTX for our physics program, this is a critical document. We ask all collaborators to provide feedback, comments, questions by Monday, January 15. This will allow us to implement changes before review of the document by the RHIC ALD and eventual submission.

To speed up preparation of the final draft, it would be helpful to divide the comments into "Type A" and "Type B" (CMS-speak), i.e.

Type A: spelling, gramar, style preferences, figure cosmetics

Type B: content, technical questions, physics, possible mistakes/errrors

We will also ask several institutions to provide reviews of all or specific parts of the document.
