Dear Collaborators,

As we reach the final stretch for sPHENIX construction and enter the commissioning phase, we will rely on continued and in some cases increasing commitment from the collaboration to ensure readiness for data taking and great physics at the beginning of 2023.

At the last General Meeting, Stefan Bathe reported that the inner HCAL assembly, starting at BNL now, needs additional workforce from the collaboration. We thank all the institutions who are already providing support for this critical task, and those  who responded to Stefan's call! However, additional help is needed to ensure that the iHCAL will be ready on schedule.

We encourage all institutions, but in particular those with less direct involvement in sPHENIX construction, to consider sending graduate students and postdocs to BNL to participate in this task. This will provide valuable training for our younger collaborators and fill a critical need of the collaboration. If you have volunteers who would like to join this effort, please contact Stefan (stefan.bathe AT baruch.cuny.edu) directly. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to the response from the collaboration!

Best,

Gunther and Dave
