Dear sPHENIX colleagues,

It is with tremendously deep sorrow that I write to inform you of the passing of Ph.D. student Jordan Roth this past Tuesday, December 14^th. Jordan had been working with my group at the University of Michigan since 2017 and was planning to graduate this coming spring based on his analysis searching for transverse-momentum-dependent factorization breaking and partonic color entanglement in Z+jet events at LHCb. On sPHENIX, he contributed to simulation studies for the cold QCD program and was one of the coordinators of the calorimeter SiPM testing efforts at Michigan.

We will remember Jordan for his brilliant mind, gentle kindness, and quirky sense of humor.
