Dear sPHENIX colleagues,

Thanks again for your participation in the Day-1 Physics Discussion in August.

One key outcome of that discussion was the agreement that it will be critical to quickly examine the 2023 data in an analysis-like setting, since this can serve as a powerful check on the data quality which is difficult to obtain just within an online monitoring framework. Thus, we believe it would be useful to hold a follow-up meeting focused on the real-time access and analysis of first data during the run.

In the next General Meeting, on 16 September 2022, we would like to hold a round-table discussion with the Topical Groups and the Computing team. We are asking the TGs to describe their needs for performing a fast and contemporaneous (“real-time”) validation of physics data, and the Computing team to describe the resources available for supporting this analysis model.

More details can be found in the slides presented in last week’s General Meeting.

As always, we strongly encourage participation from the entire Collaboration.

We look forward to seeing you next Friday,

Dennis and Anne
