Hello Ejiro,

Thank you very much for posting this very nice set of slides. I have a number of largely minor comments below:

Best Regards,
Tim

Slide 2: I personally would avoid calling sPHENIX the "first new detector in 20 years" given the large number of detector upgrades and new detector subsystems that were added to both STAR and PHENIX during their running.

Slide 2: It could be worth highlighting not only that we will be complementary to the LHC but also expand the measurement capabilities at RHIC

Slide 3 (purely stylistic so feel free to ignore): I would animate in a colored box around the Jet measurements that match the text used to specify that will be the talk focus. It will help draw the eye a bit more

Slide 4: I would remove the "for calo and tracking" when discussing the full azimuthal acceptance as it implies there are significant portions of the detector which do not have full azimuthal coverage.

Slide 4: I would specify that the sEPD and MBD are forward detectors

Slide 5: I would add that the HCals enable the first measurements of complete jets at RHIC (as it includes neutral hadrons)

Slide 13: I would modify the first bullet to talk about "Improved event plane resolution in sPHENIX due to the sPHENIX Event Plane Detector", rather than specifically talking about the MBD (or BBC [as labeled in the left figure]).

Slide 13: When talking about the slide it could be worth highlighting the expected improvement in precision at low jet pT relative to the overlap ALICE measurements

Slide 14: Although this is a correct statement, it is good to be aware that the main gain to the quark jet fraction stems in the region below around 40 GeV (see figure 1.38 https://arxiv.org/pdf/1501.06197.pdf)

Slide 16: It is probably worth mentioning the precision tracking/vertexing detectors which will be of strong benefit to the b-tagging program

Dear all,

My talk is posted here:

It was not intentional to pass the deadline to post the slides for comments- my apologies.

I will appreciate comments and suggestions (there is still time, the talk is on Wednesday, September 7).

Thanks,
Ejiro
