My notes from yesterday said that Sonny measured the coil resistance to be 2.53 ohms... first test passed.

John,
regarding the inductance and resistance,
you should have a sort of booklet with all controls during fabrication.
I have my copy, from which I extracted the attached page
related to somerelevant electrical parameters measured at
different stages of the construction.
The final coil resistance at T= 25 C is 2.51 Ohm,
the inductance 2.19 H (at any stage) and the ground
insulation 20 MegaOhm at 1 kV.

Best regards

Pasquale

Pasquale,

As you know, we have the BaBar solenoid at BNL now, and we are just
about to ship the rest of the equipment, so hopefully in a month or so
we'll have ownership of everything associated with the magnet. Mike
Racine shipped us all the documentation, and we're wading through it.

The engineers I'm working with are starting to ask questions that I
can't really answer; we were wondering whether you are going to be
traveling to the US in the near future and could stop in for day where
we ask a lot of questions and take you to dinner, but even without
that, whether we might collect some of our questions into an email or
Skype call. Let me know what might work for you.

For example--somewhere in there is the coil resistance at inductance
at 60 Hz (or whatever)--but we haven't found it yet. There are many
other questions of forces and so on that we'll need to understand very
thoroughly.

Thanks.
