Hello,
I am not sure everyone is aware of the BaBar web site with some of the drawings:
http://www-project.slac.stanford.edu/slacpix/BaBar/cad_draw/
I emailed a colleague at SLAC for access to more of the drawings.
In the meantime Pasquale answered my query almost immediately, I don't think there's any sensitive information in here so I'll post it here:

John,
indeed I have to come to USA in May, for a couple of weeks, but
I have to stay in Fermilab for the test of the prototype module
of Mu2e. I looked to the possibility to come to BNL when coming back
to Italy but I did not find a satisfactory solution, because I have a very
tight schedule here next months. Unfortunately the test of the prototype
was delayed by a couple of months! So I think it would be better
to have a (or more) skype call soon. Next week I am away for some days but
thursday 19 . If you can make a list of items to be
discussed I can look at the documentation in my hand and we
can have a dedicated skype call. Let me know how many folder you
received from SLAC. Some years ago in ASG Superconductors (formerly
Ansaldo Magneti) I found all the folders (10 if I am not wrong) related
to Babar magnet. I hope
they are still there. What are your plans for the magnet assembly and test?
May be I could have later this year a chance for visiting BNL.
The problem of the force is quite important and shall be managed carefully.
Recently when I studied the possibility to move the magnet to Italy
for SuperB I had to look at the magnetic forces because a possible change
in the iron flux return. I am attaching the chapter of SuperB TDR with
my considerations about the magnet (maybe could be useful for you).
So let's try to organise a skype call for next week. I hope I can really
help you
as much as I can.
Best regards
Pasquale

Pasquale,
As you know, we have the BaBar solenoid at BNL now, and we are just
about to ship the rest of the equipment, so hopefully in a month or so
we'll have ownership of everything associated with the magnet. Mike
Racine shipped us all the documentation, and we're wading through it.
The engineers I'm working with are starting to ask questions that I
can't really answer; we were wondering whether you are going to be
traveling to the US in the near future and could stop in for day where
we ask a lot of questions and take you to dinner, but even without
that, whether we might collect some of our questions into an email or
Skype call. Let me know what might work for you.
For example--somewhere in there is the coil resistance at inductance
at 60 Hz (or whatever)--but we haven't found it yet. There are many
other questions of forces and so on that we'll need to understand very
thoroughly.
Thanks.
