Hi,

Some smart fellow suggests that I should send the following reminder:

as in my "extrapolation" in the email 2 weeks ago,

we hope to start the nitrogen cool-down from Jan. 11, 2016 (Monday).   So, all the connections and the DAQ need to be ready
before then.   We have to schedule a (ESRC/ASSRC) safety walkthrough before that, too.

As I understand from Roberto today, one challenge is for the Cryo group to finish all their "Control" software before the above date.

1. The actual field joint works, two times of welding with a pressure test/leak check in between,
have finished. After the vacuum level went to 15 mTorr, Roberto has switched to the Turbo pump.
On Monday, Mike Gaffney will witness the OFFICIAL pressure test/leak check, with help from
the C-AD vacuum group who supplies the mass spectrometer etc.

2. R. Ceruti et. al. got the Heat Shield from the BNL central shop :
    https://collab.external.bnl.gov/sites/sPHENIX-Magnet/Pictures/Heat%20Shield%20inside%20the%20junction%20box.jpg

At the moment, Ray cannot install this heat shield inside the junction box (or called "doghouse") as the strain
gauge cables (etc. ?) are not dealt with yet.

3. R. Ceruti has also reported that the mechanical portion (bellow) for the linear potentiometers have been installed
but he and Sonny will calibrate the actual linear potentiometers and find the mid-range etc. before they can
    install them.

4. We discussed about the connections (without P. Giannotti's presence). In Piyush's understanding, Paul will be
   responsible for the strain gauge (including the few temperature required for the strain gauge temperature correction);
whereas Piyush is responsible for the power supply and quench protection connections.

5. We discussed about the BaBar refrigerator that Wes Craddock has mentioned to John Haggerty and asked whether we want it.
The consensus in the discussion seems to be that we want the refrigerator, together the compressor (if available) etc.
Roberto said that this refrigerator can be a removable module that we may use for sPHENIX or RHIC etc. The size of
the refrigerator just needs 1 truck and if the compressor is also to be shipped, it'll be 2 trucks ... Roberto will
communicate with Wes and Wolfram Fischer (to see whether he's interested) and Ed O'Brien will also talk with Wolfram
to see whether he's interested to share the cost of delivery :-)

6. From the Cost and Schedule Review in Nov., it's suggested that we consider/evaluate the field mapping scope as well
as the issue of the standalone cryo plant vs a plant tapping into the RHIC system.

Achim Franz will study and write a document to see whether we may get away without doing the so-called CERN mapping
(that he's proposed for a while). Roberto has told us that with this BaBar refrigerator, we can have an "in-between"
version such that we may move the Refrigerator out to cool the Solenoid Magnet for extensive field mapping exercise
and then move it back to tap into the RHIC system after the field mapping is done.

We heard that Wuzheng Meng may stay in BNL until Mar. 31 and there is a rumor that Holger Witte may help us with the
magnetic field calculation/simulation in the future.
