- Subject: [Sphenix-magnet-l] Axial Tie Rod Information
- Date: Fri, 12 Feb 2016 15:05:38 +0000
Hi Mike, Jon, Don and Paul,
This is the axial tie rod information I was telling you about yesterday morning at our engineering meeting. It is part of the Acceptance Test data in one of the 3-ring binders. Along with this is a paper that was in the folder and also sent to me via email on Monday by Walt Sondheim that uses the same data.
I have also found two tables that were in the conceptual design report that may give us some insight into the design parameters they used for the coil and mandrel.
Also included are two documents, one of which you may or may not have seen already at Kin’s website. This was a study done by R. P. Smith for the D0 Superconductor. The second document is a material data sheet that Jon sent me on an aluminum alloy, 1060, that is considered a commercially pure aluminum alloy.
Have a nice weekend, Jim |
