Hi,

 

Roberto told me that the slowness of the cool-down (~12-13 K a day) is due to the unexpected high flow “resistance”

in the coaxial line (inherited from BaBar/SLAC).   B. Yatauro is starting up the plant again and  I just happened to find him

next to the sPHENIX Magnet and chatted a bit… From him, it doesn’t seem that we’ll have any hope of faster cool-down …

But I’ll check with Roberto to understand more …

 

The temperature now is about to break below 190 K as seen in the plot attached.
