Hi,

My units were written wrong.  It's ~0.3 inches, not mm !!!

If you take the full cryostat length ~3.849 m,
multiplied by the famous 0.4% => 0.015396 m
=> divided by 2 (for each side)
=> 0.007698 m
=> ~0.303 inches

Thanks for pointing out the unit mistake !

Hi,

Somebody asked about it during yesterday’s meeting, I attach the plot of the linear potentiometer during warmup for pot. 1, 2 and 3.

I tried to readjust all the pots. on Mar. 22 (late afternoon) before warming up so that they would have the entire range.  Ray Ceruti

determined that Pot. 4 just didn’t latch to anything or was unreachable and we gave up on it.

My attached plots show the movements for pots 1, 2 and 3.   Pots 2 & 3 are on opposite ends, and so are pots 1 & 4.

Pots 2 & 3 rose to about ~0.3 mm as expected.

But pot 1 didn’t rise for a while until ~half way and then rose to just about 0.2 mm.   Is it possible that pot. 4 pulled the pot. 1

or something like that ?! …..

Kin
