1. C. Schultheiss reported that the PCB (bare) boards arrived in the morning and they sent out the boards plus components (which had been here for a while) yesterday afternoon for assemblying. ~July 10 was the expected delivery date (a little due to July 4 holiday). 2. Holes for the roof steel have been transferred and the roof steel were taken down from the top. Yesterday, some time after 5 pm, I took the pre-engineering critical lift form from M. Gaffney that he signed and put it on the desk of D. Phillips.
3.
Pablo Rosas has not tested the power supply with the PSI yet and he was planning to make modification for a 2nd PSI. Since he’s not going to be
4.
I’ve helped push through a few purchases (Cryo/DAQ) but Carl still has the voltage-tap cables (and a small/hundred dollar power supply for the front-end) to be purchased. Carl
has promised to do the voltage-tap cable purchase this Friday after he can finish his RHIC test. 5. I reminded peope again that we are going to have a safety (ASSRC/ESRC) review on July 6, 2017 at 1:30 pm in the Synder Room in C-AD.
6.
Joe Muratore presented his proposed test plan during the meeting. Some procedures at the beginning at room temperature are similar to what we did for the low field test. We’ve
discussed that after we ramp to 1000 A, we would use “fast discharge” to ramp down at least once to see how much “warming” up will happen.
7.
W. Pekrul reported that he’s used the GPIB to talk to the gaussmeter that Achim Franz has used to measure magnetic field last time. So, this time, both currents (etc.) and magnetic
field are going to be inside the Control Group system that everybody can analyze it.
8.
J. Mills asked about what to do after we move the Magnet. “Naturally”, we’ll install the Extension. After that, the priority is to set up the platform to support the Valve
Box for the Cryo group to start setting up the Cryo system. After the meeting, D. Phillips and J. Hock discussed (with Brian Streckenbach and myself) and apparently, they have some disagreement about whether we need to put the end wall and the lead-end roof
steel first before we set up the platform. They’ll sort this out tomorrow. 9. Ed O’Brien asked about the Magnet support rod tightening business. Ray Ceruti tightened the support rods of the Magnet on June 14, 2017. Ed O’Brien worried that we might forget to loosen them after the Magnet is moved. D. Phillips said that he’s got a line for R. Ceruti to sign and make sure that he’s loosened it after thet Magnet is moved.
