Hi,

1.
Attached is a plot of one of the four  0.5A/s ramps that Pablo Rosas has done this week.   It took ~1.5 hour to go up to almost 2700 A and another 1.5 hour to come down.
Pablo told me that he wanted to test because he had never tried to ramp so slowly before.

The slowest ramp rate in our current run plan ( https://collab.external.bnl.gov/sites/sPHENIX-Magnet/Shared%20Documents/High%20Field%20Test/2017-8-2%20sPHENIX%20Solenoid%20High%20Field%20Test%20Plan%20Summary%20v2b.docx )  is ~1A/s .

Pablo has completed his test and Dave Phillips is arranging the power supply/dump resistor to be moved to the test site by the riggers.

2.   Immediate schedule:

Ray & Co. will finish the insulation for the Junction Box today.  Next Monday morning, I hope Sonny & Co. can finish the electrical check.
[  I'm pleading to Piyush and Sonny that they'll be able to do this first thing in the morning on Monday, Aug. 14. ]

So that immediately after that, we can put up the end-walls (in the lead-end) and roof-steel.

2.1    Schedule (with some optimism) :

After that, we can put up the concrete block for the platform.    Dave Phillips' staircase is scheduled to be shipped from Pennsylvania by trucks on
Aug. 23.   Hopefully, we may install the staircase in the week of Aug. 28.    If so, we may be able to install Valvebox around ~Sept. 1 or the week
immediately after that.

Then, the Cryo group can work on the platform while Ray, Sonny, Joe & Co. can work on their connection/installation.   Paul Orfin (from the Cryo Group)
confirmed to us that since they're not on shift, they have at least two technicians to work on connecting the cryo piping (etc.)   The estimate has been 4 weeks.
I saw that they have already started building some steel frame (etc.) towards the direction of the Steel Box.

We need a safety (ASSRC/ESRC) walkthrough.

If nothing unexpected unhappens, we may start cool-down at the end of Sept.   and  hopefully, the cool-down to 4.x K can be completed in a couple weeks,
which is like mid-Oct.

Kin
