sPHENIX discussion of the superconducting solenoid

Thanks to all the hard works of the riggers and Fred, the Valvebox Platform has been installed earlier today (see picture here):

Jim and I happened to be at the same spot at the same time, admiring it.

 

The staircase pieces were transported to Bldg. 912 this morning, too.   I attach a picture of the staircase package that I took around noon and you

can understand that we now need carpenters to assembly the staircases (and the hand rails).   D. Phillips has estimated that it might take 4 days.   As

usual, carpenters are busy (including building a STAR clean room to replace a sector of TPC … etc.) and hopefully D. Phillips can help us schedule

carpenters’ time to work for this task of ours. 

 

( I’ve talked to Bill Christie/C. Folz to TRY to maximize our chance of getting some carpenters to work on it as soon as possible L J  … I can only

TRY … as I’ve never known any of my attempts are “constructive” or “destructive”.  )
