Agenda/powerpoint (photo): https://indico.bnl.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=3507

At the meeting time, only M. Anerella showed up and so we just chatted for a minute and ended the meeting J   When I walked outside, P. Orfin just drove in and so I chatted

with him for another minute.  That’s it, the shortest and most efficient meeting.

Let me just state the status and the plan ….that I/we know/have.

1.      If you look at the 2nd page of the powerpoint, you could see the photo with supporting concretes installed at the Lead-End.  Dave Phillips found (due to a discrepancy between J. Hock’s drawing and P. Kovach’s drawing/the reality) that the Extension is longer by ~5.4 inches.  So, at the time of writing, the riggers are moving the concrete blocks 5” away from the Lead-End.   After that, we need to install the platform & the staircase (which arrived at BNL on Monday).

The staircase should be transported to Bldg. 912 Tuesday morning.  But unfortunately, the Receiving’s truck was broken and so it’s not in Bldg. 912 yet.  Therefore, it’s either transported by the Receiving tomorrow morning (as Dina Tullo has just confirmed with me on phone) or our riggers are going to pick it up.

We’ll need carpenters to assemble the staircases and we probably won’t have them this week and Dave is trying to have carpenters to work on our staircase next week.  I talked to Bill Christie to ask him to to C. Folz to maximize the chance of us having carpenters to assemble the staircases.   Otherwise, we can’t proceed.

2.      The survey group (with the help of J. Mills and C. Folz as Dave and Jon were both absent yesterday) raised the Magnet Coil  but probably it’s raised unevenly on the Lead End (~2mm) vs the Non-Lead End (~1 mm).  They had difficulty to raise the Non-Lead End more than 1 mm.   They’d send us the new survey results soon hopefully.

3.      C. Theisen reported that Zeynep has completed the utility to perform “zero calibrations” on the analog inputs.  They continue to flesh out the main body of the programs following up on the latest agreed upon requirements.

4.      C. Schultheiss reported that the wiring of the front end electronics chassis is about 80% done. The board's frequency response was measured. All the channels were acceptable.  All channels on boards were hi-potted to 450 V and passed.

5.       D. Donaldson is working on cable trays and J. Benante will pull network cables through the very route very higher up in Bldg. 912 (who has promised within 3 weeks from Aug. 17, 2017).

6.      Depending on when the staircase can be installed, we’ll install Valvebox as soon as staircases are installed.  Hopefully, next week (R. Ceruti is available next week and he ordered some bolts/screws before he left on Monday).  Then,  Cryo may start connecting with the Valvebox.

P. Orfin told me that they stopped installing their unistrut for a day or so because Dave told them that they are in the way of other works.  But they have had some head start on the installation works.

As I walk around to ask people to do this or that,  people often tell me that “it’ll be done”.    … Yes, but it’s a matter of “when” ?!  L J
