sPHENIX discussion of the superconducting solenoid

Hello,

Having discussed the plan for multiple times with Paul and Carl, since Paul now tells us that we have 5 spare  burst disks and he feels confident (if anything unexpected happens),
we've altered the plan to be  the following :

E2 (ramping up 2.5 A/s in 1000 A steps to 4835)  and fast discharge 
   --- Paul told us that we don't really lose any "inventory" even though the Liquid Helium comes/came out from the top as there is a small amount contained in the Magnet system.

   ~2 hours to recover --- so that people may go to have an early lunch or something .

E4 (ramping to 4830 A  and holding  there  as long as the Liquid Helium reservoir allows us)  and do slow-discharge to ~1000 A and then fast discharge.


This could possibly finish everything that we want to do if everything goes well.   [   We'll see how many hours that we can hold there and discuss and try again another day if
somebody feel that the no. of holding hours is not enough. ]


*** Friendly reminder from Paul Orfin :   please come before 9 am and be ready at 9 am,  rather than getting there at 9:30 am.    So that we don't waste half an hour of Helium.
