Hi,

Please delay the flow switch checking after the RHIC run is over (in October).    At that time, we had plenty of time to check.

I had this “trip” (or quench) counter :

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Uk1WOlLWPDLudvUJB0mV7EmkUOpjvpnpth05YMFrX-8/edit?gid=0#gid=0

The last water flow switch problem happened on July 20, 2024, 22:44.

I had just brought the magnet back the 2nd time (due to power dip) last night.

Good morning sPHENIX team,

Rob Karl and I would like to bring a concern to your attention regarding the water-cooled BUS flow switches. The plastic piece inside the flow switch, which diverts the water, has broken off twice recently (once yesterday and once about two weeks ago), resulting in system crashes.

To ensure the flow switches are properly sized, we propose conducting a flow check. After discussing with Kin, we understand that shutting down the system requires approximately 2 hours, with an additional 2 hours needed to power it back up.

Could you please advise whether we should proceed with a shutdown tomorrow to perform this test? Your decision is crucial to avoid further issues.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
