Hi Tony and Ming,

The 100M is the number of events simulated (through the fast MC). And then the number of signal and background counts are scaled to 10B central events for physics project plots.

Thanks and Regards

/xin

Hi Tony and all,
Thanks for your comments, the draft is now updated accordingly. Thanks Jin and Sanghoon for the help.
About 100M central Au+Au events, Xin Dong could comment where this number is coming from?

The snapshot is also updated,

Overleaf page,

Cheers,
Ming

Hello Ming,

I read through section 5. Here are some comments and suggestions. Most are just grammar, but  figure 1 in section 4 may need a decision, see comment below.

Cheers

Subject: [Sphenix-maps-l] MAPS-based Vertex Detector (MVTX) pre-proposal - v1.2

Dear all,

Thanks for you all who have made tremendous contributions to the writing of the  MVTX pre-proposal.
Following is the snap shot as of tonight, released to the collaboration for review,

And also the overleaf page,

Updated from last version:
  1. The total cost is now $4.87M, including contingency
  2. Cost and Schedule are updated with more balanced labor rates.
  3. All comments and suggestions received are now taken into account in the latest version.
The org chart and cost and schedule figures/tables will be updated tomorrow.

Please try to edit or send your comments by the end of tomorrow if possible, we try to submit the pre-proposal to DOE in next a few days (original target date: Feb 1, but we are running a bit behind the plan, I know everyone is busy with QM and other things)

Cheers,
Ming

Subject: MAPS-based Vertex Detector (MVTX) proposal

Hi all,
Thanks for all who have contributed to the MIE proposal,  we have made very good progress at LBNL finishing up the draft.

Now we also have a new for the full detector : MAPS-based Vertex Detector (MVTX)

Attached is the link to a snapshot of the proposal, v1.0,

and the overleaf Latex page,

Plan for next a few days:

1)   Get all inputs/edit by the end of next Monday, Jan 30th, final edit Tuesday 1/31
2)   Submit the pre-proposal to DOE a week from now, on Feb 1, 2017. (Wed)

There will be DOE budget meeting scheduled for national labs, 2/15(LANL), 2/16(BNL) and 2/22(LBNL).

Here are names of lead people assigned at workshop to proofreading/editing the draft, by next Monday.

Ch.  1,2,3 -  Nu Xu
Ch. 4, 5 – Dave Morrison
