Hi all,

We had very good discussions today. A brief summary:

  1. Sanghoon will work with Sho to check and update the offline analysis with the 4-stave raw data, also root6 (root5 was used for last year analysis); Will release the updated analysis framework soon for everyone’s use.
  2. Matt, Cameron, Sho et al will setup cosmic test bench at LANL with the 4-stave telescope, hopefully preliminary data should be available for offline analysis sometime next week.
  3. Martin will give a demo of using Online Monitor next Thursday
  4. Fermilab TB schedule should be fixed by Friday (that is the Fermilab plan), will update everyone as soon as I get any news.

Cheers,

Ming

PS – for those would like to jump into the online/offline analysis:

I copied 4-stave raw data from that Sho generated to RCF,

/gpfs/mnt/gpfs02/sphenix/user/mxliu/telescpe/TB-2019/4-stave-data

calib_00000648-0000.prdf

calib_00000651-0000.prdf

Also you need to use the updated decoder to view them; this is currently in Sho’s repository at

https://github.com/meeg/online_distribution

Looks like something wrong with the BlueJeans. Let's move to the following one:

Hi all,

I have posted a few slides about MVTX telescope status on the indico page below.

Basically we have:

1.      completed firmware and software for the 4-stave readout and control

2.      tested 8-m sPHENIX version readout cable

3.      mechanical parts arrived at LANL to build the telescope

Cheers,

Ming

Hi all,

I have created an Indico page and setup the BlueJeans for this meeting. The link for the Indico page is:

You can upload your contributions to the Indico. If you have any question or need any additional information, please contact me. Thank you very much!

Sincerely,

Zhaozhong Shi

Subject: MVTX Fermilab test beam preparation discussion this Thursday 1:00PM/LANL (3PM/BNL)

Dear all,

We are getting close to the planned MVTX telescope test beam run at Fermilab in May 20-29.

I propose we have a short meeting next Thursday 4/18 ~1:00PM/LANL(3PM/BNL) to discuss the current status of telescope preparation work:

We can use the same BlueJeans that Zhaozhong, Ivan and Xu et al are using for the online monitoring discussions.

Possible topics:

  1. Telescope hardware and readout readiniess, Sho, Cameron, Gerd, Hubert, Matt  et al
  2. Slow control and monitoring via USB – Cameron, Sho et al
  3. Online event data monitoring software – Xu, Sanghoon, Sho
  4. Offline analysis  - Yasser, Sanghoon, Molly et al
  5. Other topics – TBD

NOTE: Fermilab test beam schedule uncertainty - --- I learnt two days ago from John Haggerty that due to possible budget shortage, Fermilab may change the TB run schedules for May-June, with possible early shutdown of the facility. Fermilab will make a decision early next week about TB plan. I hope by Thursday we will know the schedule.

In the case of lost planned beam time, we should do our best to run parasitically with others if possible to take data this year, stay tuned.

Zhaozhong – could you setup the indico page so people can post their slides?

Cheers,

Ming
