Hi all,

Your work here will directly impact any future physics analysis!
Track/calo matching – Antonio da Silva, ISU
Jin thinks it would be good to look at the track/calo matching efficiency in the azimuthal and longitudinal directions On slide 7, Jin mentioned that the higher EMCal matching could be be due to the different trigger used between this slide and slide 5. Slide 5 used minimum bias triggers and slide 7 used photon triggers. The photon triggers will have a larger EMCal sample due to things like electron conversions
Tony commented on the phi dependence seen in slide 8. He noted there is an issue with the silicon seeding where we get the wrong charge a lot. It would be good to see the phi-dependent efficiency as well.
He also noted that measuring conversions are tricky as they occur outside the silicon. This means we won’t get a crossing number from the INTT. Jin noted that if we use the photon trigger then the collision time is determined by the EMCal so you can still do the matching
Cameron asked if the low efficiency could be due to the silicon/TPC matching rather than the track/calo matching so you don’t get the correct projection of the track to the calorimeter.
Tony said it was very likely as the silicon efficiency is still low.
Xuan asked about the status of the silicon seeding and whether it would be discussed in these meetings. She (and possibly a new LANL member) would like to contribute. Tony said the
best place to get up-to-date information is in the daily tracking meetings.
