Dear sPHENIX colleagues,

Thanks for your input in various meetings on the preparation of the sPHENIX Beam Use Proposal 2024, and the contributed plots from Cameron, Rithya, Jenn, Sasha L, Marzia, Jin, and others.

I have uploaded a line-numbered, working draft “v1” to Invenio here: https://sphenix-invenio.sdcc.bnl.gov/communities/sphenixcommunity/requests/d79666dc-d623-47b7-847f-ffd0cf5d3f8d

I would be grateful for your input under the Invenio “Conversation” by the end of Thursday, October 31st, particularly from close readings by run, subsystem, and physics experts. Small comments on language or plotting are just as welcome as major comments on structure, argument, etc.

A few notes:

* This BUP draft has a nominal priority list & framing for additional running after Au+Au. This should not be considered final and could still be changed in further discussions next week and/or at the discretion of the Spokespersons.

* Given the very recent end of Run-24, Section 2.3 is still to be completed. Run-24 Coordinator Jamie Nagle has volunteered to write up a short summary of the lessons from Run-24 Au+Au for Run-25 over the next few days. At that time, I may “re-upload” a new version with announcement to the list.

Finally, I have made an Indico agenda for Tuesday, October 29th, at 2pm BNL time to discuss the Monday release of official C-AD guidance and step through the projection plots in real time:  https://indico.bnl.gov/event/25244/ (the Invenio location is also linked from this page)
