***ATTENTION: This email came from an external source. Do not open attachments or click on links from unknown senders or unexpected emails.*** Hi everyoneWe were informed today (5/1/2023) that someone working on the assembly hall floor beneath the chiller platforms got a liquid substance in their eye. The event was reported this morning at a CAD meeting. After that meeting, Ray Fliller met with several of us, including the individual that this happened to, we discussed the area in question and determined that this most likely occurred while we were performing maintenance involving electronics cooling water on Chiller Platform B. The individual was informed that they should visit OMC. The group discussed some safety options and we converged on the following actions being implemented when work is being done on either of the chiller platforms.
- When maintenance or repairs are being done on the chiller or electronics cooling water systems on the chiller platforms (A or B), a yellow “Caution: Entry Requires Permission” barrier with a white “Barricaded Area” tag, with contact information of the person/people doing the work should be placed such that no person can enter the area surrounding the chiller platforms on the assembly hall floor (see image below).
- We should also be mindful of the work we are performing and be sure to keep ourselves and those around us safe.
- Inform people in the immediate area of the work you are doing so they are aware of any hazards
- Wear safety glasses when working with liquids that could inadvertently splash or spray
Best Regards,Christopher Pontieri
