Dear Zhaozhong, Hao-Ren, and Cheng-Wei,
Thank you for finding the associated hits with MVTX and INTT. This is the very first step towards the heavy flavor physics in sPHENIX!
Best regards,

Dear sPHENIX Here is the SCM minutes on August 12. You can see very nice event display plots for cosmic on MVTX and INTT together! ************* General (Stefan/Kin) Current Priority Items (PC)Make use of magnetic field, which we’ll have until Monday 5am : take data with tracking detectors: TPC, MVTX, INTT, TPOT, HCALWork Control Coordinators (Chris/Joel) Plan of the Day (Stefan/PC/all–to be revisited at end of meeting)Work on the searching for TPC single pulse peakTake the cosmic data with HCAL trigger with tracking detectors.======================================================================== Evening (Virginia)INTT pedestal run at beginning of shiftProblem restarting Big Partition run due to seb16 error. Martin fixed it and we continued data taking.MVTX off at beginning of shift due to DAQ2 chiller issue. Chiller came back online around 8:30pm. Contacted expert (Zhaozhong) who came in and took the chiller out of bypass. Around 11:15pm, MVTX expert (Michael) called and let us know the MVTX was back on and could be added back to big partition, which we did.Night (Silas)At 12:30, michael called to let us know that the MVTX felix5 was only taking data at ½ rate, attempted starting new run and restarting did not fix it, Michael reset the detector from scratch in expert modeINTT Chiller stopped at 3:30, setting off interlock, was unable to get in touch with Rob Pisani, called Rachid and got the ok to take INTT out of big partitionDay (Christine)When we came in, INTT chiller was down and we were waiting on Rob P to fix it. He did shortly after the start of the shift, so we double checked with MVTX that we were good to turn the INTT back on, turned it back on, and put it in the run. It’s been running smoothly since. After the INTT chiller, we had a few false alarms - they cleared quickly without intervention so were probably erroneous - for INTT, TPOT, and TPC chillersMVTX was hanging runs w/o going through the procedure to reconfigure the DAQ before every run. Not sure what was happening! Second to last run started without reconfiguring, but latest needed reconfiguring.MVTX had a few clock error issues. Cleared with the GUI button. The TPC is teasing us. Hopefully we see cosmics soon…!
======================================================================== Magnet (Kin)Magnet still at full field.
MBD (Mickey)Nothing to reportTrigger (Dan) GTM/GL1 (Martin/Dan/John K)Joe and I are trying to figure out the deadtime mystery. Christine connected the JTag cable to the gtm1 unit for us so we can get at the ILAs.The mystery surrounding the missing lemo input has been solved. For the next run we won’t have to choose between ZDC and Cosmics trigger inputs.DAQ (Martin/John H)The /bbox file system was getting a bit full. I deleted junk files older than 2 weeks, and some others older than 80 days.MVTX (Zhaozhong/Hao-Ren)Received a call from night shift leader Virginia yesterday at 8:40 pm saying that the DAQ2 cooling is back online. Cameron restarted DAQ 2 CDU at around 8:50 pm and kept on bypass mode until Zhaozhong arrive at the IR at 9:40 pm. Zhaozhong turned on the all the channels in the DAQ 2 cooling panel and put it back to normal operation mode. DAQ 2 flow rate stays at stable at around 9.0 L/min since 9:56 pm yesterday.Receive two phone calls from Christine today regarding to mvtx data taking. The first one is at around 11:53 am: FELIX 4 data rate is lower than other FELIXes (about ⅔)Issue seems to have resolved itself in run 25509 as of 15:32 - CameronThe second one is at around 1:38 pm. It appears that gtm has to be reset in order for mvtx to take dataBoth issues have been reported to the mvtx team for discussion. No action has been taken so far.Cosmic (treasure) hunting: collaborative work by INTT and MVTX groups (huge thanks to Cheng-Wei for providing INTT cosmic events and relevant detector information)Run 25475 (started at Aug 11th 4:46am), MVTX was in BP and took cosmic data in continuous readout mode with 89us strobe length. For MVTX data, singular/isolated pixel hits were excluded (expect cosmics produce clusters of adjacent pixel hits. From testbeam study, the number of hits per cluster from cosmics is 2.x on average)Matching BCO via L1 trigger (note: the physTrg BCO in MVTX data has a +-1 difference w.r.t INTT BCO): For the event shown below, the MVTX physTrg BCO is 883499075070 while INTT BCO is 883499075069Looking for more cosmic events, with INTT (and possibly with TPOT?)
TPC (Tom Hemmick, Jin, Takao, Evgeny, Charles, David, John K., Bob, Ross)Today 08/12:Raised GEM HV to 4700 & 4750 VWanted to confirm health of HV system after Thursday night mishapGEMs performed as expected, fast and slow protection performed as expectedNo new damage todayWhile at 4700 V and 4750 V, TPC ran in big partition with HCAL, INTT, TPOT, MVTX and cosmic trigger4700 V (Run 25498 > 100000 events in TPC):4750 V (Run 25503 > 100000 events in TPC):Clearly see activity above pedestal but isolated to single sector/module suggestive of delta rays or heavy ion - not cosmicsThis has been the situation for some timeConfirmed by Thomas Marshall, most event displays show delta electrons, not tracks from cosmicsWill still look a these most recent runs thoughStill, in big partition now with GEMs at 4500 V (Run 25509)Will take some more data here for a whileLater, we will shut HV completely off (CM = 0 V, GEMs = 0 V)Tomorrow 08/13:Will return to raise HV againTom wants to see what happens after leaving HV off for some time
HCal (Silas)Minor instability in seb16/seb17One fault in seb16--unable to communicate, Martin got it back onlineOne fault in seb17--rcdaq crashed mid run, took full reconfigure to bring it backEMCal () TPOT () INTT (Genki/Maya/Cheng-Wei)We took noise data yesterday. Now INTT is running.A reference plot as following for the track confirmation of the event used to correlate with MVTX clusters.
