Subject: PROActive Review Takes Place in C-AD November 13-17

From November 13 - 17, C-AD, along with the IP Department and F&O will be participating in a PROActive Review.  The PROActive Review is a peer review that includes observations of work activities and informal discussions with workers in the field.  The members of the team are members of other labs throughout the DOE complex (Los Alamos, Oak Ridge, Idaho, Pacific Northwest, SLAC, Fermilab, and Princeton) as well as DOE staff.  The review team will try to visit as many areas as they can, so it is important that all of us are aware of the review and be prepared to engage with the review team.  This review is not an audit or a compliance assessment, and the goal of the review team is to understand our operations and provide feedback on how we can improve.  At the end of the week, the review team will share its observations, analysis, and suggestions about how we can improve. 

 

It is very important that every one of us be open and honest with the review team.  Their goal is to learn more about the work that each of us does and how we do it.  We should be prepared to share what is going well and our best practices as well as the difficulties that we encounter when performing our work.  Also, if you don’t have an answer to a question, please feel free to direct the review team to others.

 

To prepare, I would ask that we all make sure to clean up our work areas and make them neat and tidy.  Work materials and tools should be organized, and trash should be removed to minimize distractions and unnecessary hazards.
