Hi,

I read Jamie’s email and it seems that there may be some interest the Lab’s drinking water standard.  The Lab. published the 2024 report a few weeks ago as shown in the email below and  the report is here : https://www.bnl.gov/water/reports.php

Just in case you haven’t seen it….

Kin

Correction: Lab Publishes Water Quality Annual Consumer Confidence Report for 2024

Brookhaven Lab's drinking water supply and distribution system were in full compliance with all county, state, and federal regulations in 2023.

Brookhaven publishes an Annual Consumer Confidence Report to provide an overview of water quality during the previous calendar year. The Lab is required to produce this report each year on the quality of its drinking water under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).

The report, which is distributed to all on-site drinking water consumers, also serves as a reminder of the importance and need to protect drinking water sources and informs consumers:

•           About their drinking water source

•           What analytical tests are conducted to ensure the safety of the Lab's drinking water

•           On the results of the analytical testing

•           How the test results compare to state drinking water standards

Subject: [Sphenix-run-l] Quality of Life (or lack thereof)

Hello  All - particularly those of you  staying at BNL,

A few quick updates.

1.   Housing has ordered yet another five Mifi boxes that should arrive mid-week.     If you are one of the sPHENIXians with bad internet and do not have a Mifi box or access to a nearby Cradle Router,  this is another soon-to-be option.   If you have a Mifi box and are leaving, please let me know before you  return it to housing.  The 5G work continues, and they are now estimating more like the end of June, and I believe that is June 2024 not June 2025 :)

2.   My  apartment is now being invaded by ants - fun!     If you have a similar issue, you can call housing and an exterminator will drop off ant traps -- see picture below.     They  seem to be stemming the invasion.

3.   People always have questions about drinking the water in the apartments.     I  have tested my own apartment water a few times, and all levels look normal.     I have some extra test strips if you want to use one.

Sincerely,

Jamie
