Hello sPHENIXians,
This week marks cryo-week #9 and we are sampling the full luminosity with photon and jet physics triggers!
The photon and jet physics program with calorimetry is now fully underway, with the triggers fully operational.

The shift crew with help from many experts have been doing a great job taking data and working through issues.
Also, the commissioning of the local polarimeter and spin scalers (GL1P) means sPHENIX has officially started the spin program.
To celebrate these achievements and the extraordinary effort of many people here in 1008, Anne & I organized a
Taco Party on Monday!
The MVTX and INTT and TPOT have also been involved in data taking and issues with "data dropping" and BCO data integrity checks are underway -- with two focused work sessions to move past these problems. The TPC is changing the gas to a nitrogen admixture, and hopefully starting on Thursday, the experts will assess the working point. In parallel, major efforts are underway on the firmware and zero suppression. We will have to re-assess

Thanks to Anne Sickles for a great job as Period Coordinator! I particularly appreciate her taking over during my illness. We also have a new top notch shift crew incoming (picture below)!
Sincerely,
Jamie
