Thank you Jamie, this is very helpful information.

For MVTX folks – I noticed the beam background hit rates of MBD_S(N)/ZDC_N&S went up quite significantly with 1.5mrad Xing-angle,

from 109 (ZDC =19kHz) to 162 (ZDC = 2.8kHz) for South and 132 to 227 for north, 50 ~70% increase. It would be good to check fast offline QA asap.

Cheers,

Ming

Hello All,

I wanted to send out a few run number ranges that may be of interest to various groups.

(1) We started running at zero crossing angle with a good physics run # 46619 on June 24, 2024.    As detailed in my General Meeting presentation - linked at the bottom, that is the point where I am starting the count on integrated luminosity with reasonable detector / DAQ / trigger quality.

(2) On July 21, 2024 the sPHENIX magnet tripped off.     During the investigation of the cause and before the magnet was ramped back up, sPHENIX collected a data sample with B=0 that includes both the MVTX and INTT (along with other detectors).   The run numbers are  # 48869 - 48877.     Hopefully these can be useful, for example for alignment studies.

(3) Today, July 22, 2024, sPHENIX requested steering from 0 crossing angle into +1.5 mrad crossing angle as a test in anticipation of the TPC coming online in the next week.    The run numbers are # 489034 - 49054.   The run just before the change for comparison (still at zero crossing) was # 489029.    Below are a few figures relevant to the change over.

Sincerely,

Jamie
