Temporary Outage Planned for Site Fire Alarm System Thursday, 8/8

A temporary outage is planned for the Lab's site fire alarm system on Thursday, Aug. 8. This system connects fire alarm panels in buildings across the Lab site to the Laboratory Protection Division's Central Alarm Station.
The outage will allow staff to perform required system maintenance, which is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and continue throughout the day.

Building fire alarms will remain functional for the duration of the work. Emergency alarms, however, will not directly alert the Lab's Fire Rescue group.
If an emergency occurs, an alarm sounds, or automated external defibrillator (AED) is needed, staff are asked to report it immediately by calling Ext. 2222 from a Laboratory phone or 631.344.2222 from a cell phone.

The Lab's Fire Rescue and Police groups will be performing exterior building patrols to listen for local fire alarm bells ringing.
