Hello All,
sPHENIX is racing towards the end of proton-proton data taking in just over 12 hours -- Monday, September 30, 2024 at 8 am. sPHENIX will be in Restricted Access after that and all activities in the IR should be coordinated with the Shift Leader.
The end of proton-proton run party, as previously announced (see below), will be Monday at 5 pm!
A couple of adjustments for Monday. First, due to the party, we will have the SCM and then skip the regularly scheduled Shift Training. We would like the new shift crews to read through the training slides (linked below), and then I will go through individual shift crew training on Tuesday during your regular shifts (noting that we do not expect Au-Au collisions until Wednesday night at the earliest). I will need to collect signatures for your training for those who have not done 2024 shifts yet.

Lastly, we have had multiple illnesses on the owl shift -- we appreciate their extra effort and the remaining crew for adjusting as needed. Thus, the owl shift will have its last shift late tonight, i.e., Tuesday midnight, and not have them serve on the overlap shift -- so they get extra rest but also do not risk illness for the new owl shift crew.
