Hello All,
I have previously sent a message to a few subsystem experts about our plan for end of watch shifts.
After hearing back from them, I am sending out this message to the run list. Here is our proposed plan for ending the current watch period.
1) Friday 11/01 12 PM ET - Rob Pisani comes to 1008 to begin purging the TPC with N2
2) Friday 11/01 12 - 1 PM ET - Subsystem experts shut down their detectors (including calibration devices like lasers - in person at 1008 if possible)
3) Friday 11/01 1 PM+ ET - Joel shuts off all racks (after confirming all detectors are off)
4) Friday 11/01 - Saturday 11/02 - Watch shifts are kept as isobutane is purged from TPC
5) Saturday 11/02 8 AM ET - Watch shifts end (this is possible because the isobutane level will be low enough after 4 turns in 16 hours, according to Joe Levesque).

This will mean that shifters can go home after 11/02 8 AM ET. Any request for special running should be made promptly as we have almost 48 hours until the proposed gas switchover.
After the racks are shut off, subsystem experts must follow the shutdown procedures to do any further work - i.e. come to 1008, turn on racks, perform work, turn off rack when done.
Rob has confirmed that the plan is to keep all subsystems cooling systems running and N2 flowing. Only the isobutane gas is going - to be replaced w/ N2.
