Hi JaeBeom,
Thank you for the summary. What I would suggest is that when Ron sends the email announcement for the meeting next week that we attach the document there since we will want to discuss it in our meeting.

My first conclusion is that Dan Lis was correct in his assessment that we needed to replace 2x SiPMs.  This means on some of the older tests, we might be unfairly characterizing tile 3.  I think that if the tile looks ok in the old tests, there is no need to retest.

How much was the space between the paddles reduced, and how much faster is the rate?  We should speed up just by not needing to shift anything.

I will be at BNL Wednesday/Thursday of next week.  We can discuss things further then as well.

Regards,
Rosi

Dear all,

We want to share the status of the ongoing cosmic tests at highbay in BNL by Lehigh & CU team. (Thanks to Dan for the help!)

Please find the attached slides for details. @Rosi if you could open an agenda for the last meeting I could upload them there too.
It looks the new SiPM works good (and better than the previous one).
Also, we reduced the distance of the scintillators and sEPD sectors to increase the rate & purity of the test data.

The summary of the main points what we have so far :
1. Rate increased by reducing distance of the two scintillators / reduce also distance b/w sectors
2. New SiPM shows better performance than before (slide 3)
3. Still suggest for 1day data taking per sector to ensure the clear mip peak
— low statistics in lower channels found in some previous runs
4. Coincidence & Isolation cut applied using pedestal cut
5. Plan to finish tests for all remaining sectors and in the meantime decide if retested of previous tests are needed

Best,
Micah and JaeBeom
