Hi folks,

we should make an effort to back up the test beam raw data to hpss. The data disks are somewhat the wild west with raw data files scattered all over private directories but you should be aware that your are just one catastrophic disk array failure away from loosing some or all of it. We stopped putting test beam files into hpss in 2017, I just backed up the TPC data from 2018 and 2019. Everything else - see the previous sentence.

P.S. reasons for catastrophic failure include loosing more then one disk in a lun before raid5 can recover (I remember that happening once) or a controller hardware error where it starts overwriting stuff (also happened once).
