Dear All,

Thank you for your participation to the meeting.
Here are the minutes that Jin and I took.

Minutes for the TPC DAQ meeting, Jan 18, 2017

----------

setup DAM test stand

----------

Programmable frequency for bi-directional optical link?

- Some PLL. on-board clock generator is there. jitter cleaner is also there.

- Three signals to be sent down to FEE (clock, control signal)

- How about FPGA on FEE programming?

- XILINX is much more stable under radiation environment.

- GBT or FPGA? The radiation for the FPGA should be estimated. This is just a function of Cross-section.

- T<200Gaus for ATLAS. AVACO in magnetic field is in question.

- sPHENIX 1.5T. AVACO endurance is 2T.

- Next action is to get few more FELIX card.

- MAPS may use FELIX or not, because UT Austin is using CRU

- Timing card part will be discussed soon.

----------

Data emulation by real data

----------

- It is nice to have emulated data.

Slide 2: pad plane design

Takao: each cell is 16 channel.

----------

Pad and FEE side update

----------

 Slide 3: FEE diagram

Tom: trace length is minimized from SAMPA layout

Tom: suggest shorter card. STAR used a long card to fit older form factor.

Tom: suggest two sides SAMPA design instead two rows.

Takao: input line should be shorter than 5in based on STAR experience

Klaus: current drawing has 17cm height on the FEE board

Tom: may even out the radius thickness for all three modules.

----------

DAM board update

----------

- People agreed to user 2 48 optical cable bundles.

- Takao will double check the rate

- Still need to reduce a factor of 2. Maybe clustering will help?
