Hello everyone

Thanks for your participation in the Doodle Poll.  The meeting will be tomorrow morning from 9am-finished (latest noon).  The indico page is located here:

Please notice that there is a slot for each institution that participated in the doodle poll ordered from East-->West around the globe.  I've put in a set of what should be VERY VERY short talks from each institution.  These talks should have the following three slides:

1)  Experience (detector systems built including past/present/future).
2)  Facilities (all those appropriate to the sPHENIX TPC).
3)  People  (faculty, postdoc, and students who will work on the TPC).

After that we'll hold a more open conversation about how to guide the TPC module production.

The bluejeans information is here:

Hi Everyone

We have reached the stage in the TPC where module production (we won't do much physics with only a field cage) needs to be seriously addressed.  As you are aware, the FY18 efforts require a serious ramp-up of efforts in this area and include both the preparation (missing parts) and validation (module production example) steps for all our factories.

The WBS says that we shall have three factories (PNPI, WIS, Vanderbilt) each of which produces all modules of a single size.  Since the time of the writing of that WBS, we have enjoyed attracting interest from additional institutions with significant expertise and experience (Temple, Wayne State, ...).  Now as OPC funds are beginning to be distributed it is imperative that we add detail to our production model including:

*  Pre-evaluation of GEMs
*  Assignment of module sizes
*  Inclusion of additional facilities

I would like to take a doodle poll to decide a date for this meeting.  We will hold the meeting "in the morning" on whatever day we all select as best for this discussion.  The link to the doodle poll is located here:

I am virtually certain that we'll need a follow-up meeting and we will schedule that later.  The goal is to finalize plans for FY18 funding distribution before Thanksgiving so that people can begin the process to get monies transferred to their home institution sooner rather than later.

Thanks,
Tom
