Hi All,
Just a comment. It is trivially easy to make a labeled version of the repository (select the "versions" tab and add a label). If you do that, Overleaf will let you compare side by side the current version to the labeled version. As far as I know (maybe someone else knows better) that is the only tracking of changes that takes place and the only way to recover something that is overwritten.
Making frequent labeled versions would seem to be prudent. I would suggest at least once a day, but I really don't see why doing it more often than that would be a problem.
