HI Tony,

I realize the next tracking meeting won’t be until next Friday, but I’d like to put in a request to give a talk on the possibility of a straw tube tracker for sPHENIX.  This is inspired by Yasuyuki’s recent discussions about developing a much more cost effective outer tracker that might allow us to buy back some of the already de-scoped items.  I believe a highly segmented straw tracker is a really excellent choice for that cost-effective outer tracker since it would certainly work, and has very low technical, schedule, and cost risk.  I’m happy to debate this at the next meeting.

Thank you very much for putting me on the agenda.

Sincerely,
Mickey

Hi All,

We will not have an sPHENIX tracking meeting tomorrow, the next meeting will be Friday August 12.

Mike is working on the event pileup capability in our simulations, but needs a bit more time to finish it. The TPC electronics workfest is winding up today, and I hope that we can hear a report on that next week too.

Best regards
Tony
